Ready to donate?
Help us get your devices wiped, refurbished, and into local schools and charities quickly.
Where the laptops go
Your old work laptop can help kids learn, free up school budgets, and keep local community groups’ lights on.
- Kids: pupils who’d otherwise share a family phone to study get a device of their own, at home, whenever they need it
- Schools: every refurbished laptop we put in a classroom frees up budget for teachers, resources, and the things that actually make a difference
- Community organisations: from food banks running referral lists to scouts groups teaching coding, you can help keep Worcestershire’s grassroots organisations connected and capable
Every device we restore goes free of charge to schools and non-profit organisations. This frees up tight budgets.
Nothing is resold for profit – any revenue from refurbished sales goes straight back into the programme.
Your data is safe with us
We know handing over old work laptops is a compliance question as much as a goodwill one.
Here’s what we do to protect you:
- Certified erasure: We use BitRaser, independently certified by ADISA (Assurance Level 5), NIST, and IEEE 2883:2022; not a factory reset, not a cheap tool.
- Tamper-proof certificates: Every wiped device gets a digitally signed certificate you can show an auditor, regulator, or lawyer.
- Full audit trail: Each certificate records the device, the method, and the date, giving your infosec team a clear chain of evidence.
- Your standards, met: We can wipe to NIST 800-88 or DoD 5220.22-M to fit your existing security policies.
What can I donate?
We welcome business-grade laptops and tablets capable of running modern operating systems — think Windows 10/11 or recent Android/iPadOS.
Popular models that work well include:
- Laptops: Dell Latitude, Lenovo ThinkPad, Microsoft, HP EliteBook
- Tablets: Samsung Galaxy Tab (business range), Microsoft Surface, Apple iPad (5th gen or later)
- Power cables are always welcome too — they save us sourcing replacements and keep more money going to schools and charities.
Older laptops or damaged screens?
Our goal is to repair and refurbish laptops for good causes. Unfortunately, older machines and those with cracked screens often aren’t viable to restore.
If a few of these end up in your donation, it’s not a problem.
We can arrange and pay for secure destruction on your behalf. In some cases, we may ask for a small contribution towards this to protect our charity funds. If you’d prefer, we’re happy to return the devices to you, free of charge.
Got a Mac?
We accept M1 and newer MacBooks — but there’s one thing you need to do first.
Before donating, please:
- Sign out of your Apple ID
- Go to System Settings → General → Transfer or Reset → Erase All Content and Settings.
- Confirm Activation Lock has been removed at icloud.com/find
If you’re unsure or need help, just get in touch — we’d rather walk you through it than miss out on a machine that could be put to good use.
Older Intel Macs (pre-M1)? These are harder to work with and we can’t always guarantee a clean wipe. Please get in touch before donating and we’ll advise.
